Dr. Marissa McCarthy

Dr. Marissa McCarthy is a double board-certified physician in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Brain Injury Medicine with more than 22 years of experience dedicated to brain health, rehabilitation, performance medicine, and whole-person wellness.

As the founder of Raeven Health, Dr. McCarthy brings together decades of clinical expertise, academic leadership, and a deeply personalized approach to care. Her practice is rooted in the belief that optimal health begins with understanding the complex connection between the brain, body, and nervous system, and creating individualized strategies that support recovery, resilience, longevity, and performance.

Dr. McCarthy serves as Professor of Neurology at the University of South Florida (USF), where she is also Program Director of the USF Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Residency Program and a provider within the USF Concussion Center. In addition to training the next generation of physicians, she remains actively involved in advancing the fields of brain injury medicine, rehabilitation, and cognitive health through education, research, and clinical leadership.

Throughout her career, Dr. McCarthy has cared for individuals navigating traumatic brain injury, concussion, cognitive decline, chronic pain, neurologic conditions, stroke, spinal cord injury, and complex rehabilitation needs. Her experience also extends to performance optimization, functional medicine, sleep health, and longevity-focused care designed to help patients not only recover, but thrive.

At Raeven Health, Dr. McCarthy offers a concierge-style physician experience that combines evidence-based medicine with thoughtful, relationship-driven care. Dr. McCarthy earned her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, completed her internship in Internal Medicine at New York Medical College, and completed her residency training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She also serves as an invited oral board examiner and examination question writer for the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
